Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Basketball team! FOR THE FIRST TIME THE MHHS LADY TERRIERS ARE RANKED # 119 AND #9 IN OUR STATE RURAL DIVISION! Way to go, Lady Terriers!

Dear 8th-Grade Parents/Guardians,
The 8th-grade class sponsors are seeking y our support to kick-start our Christmas on the Caloosahatchee fundraisers (popcorn, funnel cakes, & ice cream with toppings). As you may know, our 8th-grade class currently has no funds in our account, and we are relying on donations to purchase the necessary items for the event.
We kindly request that each student donate $10 to help us cover these initial costs. We understand the the holiday season can be a challenging time, so if you are unable to give the full amount, any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated.
To ensure that we can purchase the needed items on time, we ask that donations be sent by Friday, December 6th. Your child may give their donation to either Ms. Hall or Mrs. Woodward, and a receipt will be provided.
In addition, we are looking for parent/guardian volunteers to assist with Christmas on the Caloosahatchee on Thursday, December 12th. The vent will run from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, but we will need help starting at 4:00 pm for setup. If you're available to volunteer, please contact Ms. Hall or Mrs. Woodward at (863) 946-0811 to sign up.
The sponsors will maintain a record of all donations and volunteer hours. Your contributions of time and resources are vital to making this event a success, and we deeply appreciate your support throughout the year.
Thank you for your generosity!
Sincerely,
Ms. Hall & Mrs. Woodward
8th-Grade Sponsors

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
This is a friendly reminder that the Glades County Education Foundation is sponsoring an ACT Boot Camp this afternoon from 3:15 pm until 5:15 pm. In order to earn a diploma in the State of Florida, all students must pass a reading test, and the ACT is one of the reading tests that can be used to meet this requirement.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to meet a graduation requirement or earn a higher ACT score for college.
Sincerely,
MHMHS

Dear Parents, Students, and Guardians,
As we anticipate cooler weather over the next few days, we encourage you to dress warmly. Since the temperatures also tend to fluctuate greatly throughout the day, we also recommend wearing layers so you can adjust as needed.
Have a wonderful evening,
Dr. Roy
Principal

A friendly reminder to all of our Terrier Families that beginning Monday, December 2nd, all personal electronics (cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, etc.) must be silenced, away, and out of sight during the instructional hours of 8:27 am until 3:10 pm.
In addition to the school's procedure, teachers may enforce additional rules in their classrooms. According to HB 379, " a student may not use a wireless communications device during instructional time, except when expressly directed by a teacher solely for educational purposes. A teacher shall designate an area for wireless communications devices during instructional time."
Any student who has a device visible or fails to meet the expectations of a teacher's classroom will need to turn in their device to a faculty or staff member and will be able to pick up their device from the front office at the end of the school day.
Beginning January 7th, parents or guardians will have to pick up devices for students who violate our personal electronics and devices rules and procedures.

Mark your calendars for Christmas Cheer Week - Monday, December 16th - Friday, December 20th.

Dear Terrier Families,
Due to the hectic time of year, many parents and community members have expressed that they are not able to make this evening's Pizza with the Principal. As a result, I will postpone Pizza with the Principal until after the holidays.
If you would like to meet with me sooner, I am happy to arrange personal meetings with any community member. If you are interested in a personal meeting, please call the school at 863-946-0811.
Thank you,
Dr. Roy

A Mission Statement is an incredibly important statement that declares what an organization intends to do to achieve its Vision Statement.
We unanimously voted to adopt the following Vision Statement last night:
"Our vision is to motivate and empower students to achieve individual, academic, and social excellence through innovative learning experiences in an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment that celebrates diversity, promotes integrity, and values everyone as essential partners in building a foundation for continuous improvement and growth."
Please click on the link below to vote for the Mission Statement that you believe best supports the Vision Statement above.

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, members of The Seminole Tribe of Florida joined us on campus today to share their culture. What an amazing day! Thank you to all members of the Tribe who came to share the rich traditions and food of the Tribe.

The Boys Basketball Team did a fundraiser to pie a faculty member in the face. The top 3 "fund raisers" ended up getting pied: Ms. Busby (most funds raised), Coach Lee (2nd place), and Ms. Gray (3rd Place). We hope the pie tasted great!
